What does a 2D Compositor do?
One of jobs of the Compositor is to make a character look like they belong in the scene by changing the character’s colour palette, adding rim lights or secondary lighting to match the environment. They also help enhance the overall scene by adding soft focus, glares, shadows and more.
Who would be good at 2D compositing?
A Compositor needs to be detail oriented. They need to come up with creative ideas on how to use lighting and the camera to enhance the scene.
How do I become a 2D compositor?
A great way to practice and learn 2D compositing is to take a screen capture of a 2D animated film and change the mood of it by using a program like Photoshop to create a new light source, shadows and some highlighted effects.
