A Background Painter (or BG Painter) needs to understand colour, lighting and composition, have a good eye for detail and be versatile; changing projects often means changing styles.
How do I become a Background Painter?
Learn photoshop and take some online courses on how to digitally paint. Download some line work from series that you like and find a still frame of that series of the same location…and paint it. Experiment with lighting and shadows and learn to create a mood with colour.
